If I Could Shout From The Rooftops (Fall Edition)

Here's a few things I'd say:

  • Keep lifting, keep moving, in and outside the gym. I know it can take longer to warm up when it’s cold. Take the time, but maintain your movement habit. A few extra burpees can help a lot here!

  • Embrace the season of stews. Use that crockpot/ instant pot to make meal prep so much simpler, plus it’s a great way to warm up.

  • Wear sunscreen. Even when it’s overcast. As a habit-based coach I’m all about the big dial movers. Ask any dermatologist and they’ll tell you no amount of fancy creams is gonna matter if you’re not wearing sunscreen.

  • Hydrate. Even though we’re not sweating through our clothes in this season, we’re still losing fluids. Try some hot teas or a new flavor of seltzer to keep things fresh.

  • Mobilize. Sometimes we’ll be unable to get into the gym, even when it’s in our garage. So, stay inside and embrace mobility training instead. Active mobility and joint training IS strength training and it’ll help you take more on in the gym over time.
